His passion for busking saw him featured in ITV’s documentary “Busking Underground. Filmed during the audition and licensing process, the crew then followed Steve for the press launch and a further 2 months for the launch of London Undergrounds partnership with Carling.

Since hearing the didgeridoo in the spring of 93 Steve has been hugely influenced by a number of gifted people, outstanding musicians and music styles from around the world. These influences fuel his ambition to learn, practice and constantly improve his unique style.

I remember that warm Saturday afternoon as the greatest turning point in my life. Aged 18 and looking for a new direction after two years in the army, I heard the Didgeridoo played by Chris Troth, a local busker in my home city of Portsmouth, the incredible sounds he made were an audio ecstasy, that moment I knew my life was about to change forever.

After a twenty minute tuition and with the help of mum’s vacuum cleaner tube, I found a new passion and a basic understanding of circular breathing by the following day”.

Steve devoted the following years to an intense learning curve and excelled to a spiritual level during a visit to a local tunnel.

Playing didge for the first time in there can only be described as an orgasm in my heart and playing in F#, the vibration was so powerful I imagined sitting inside the didge playing the tunnel itself. I soon realised this site sacred to me, was all about a teaching, the tunnel provided much inspiration in learning new rhythms, as following the reverb from a simple drone would lead off in so many directions. As the didge played me, I had absolutely no control over what I was about to learn from one session to the next and it was from there, that my own style and CD evolved.

Rob Mants, (another early influence) sums HIS SIMILAR experience up perfectly in his quote as being

A conductor of ghosts”.

Having learned many aspects of life from his elders, Steve made a promise early on as a novas to remember his roots. This promise is fulfilled working closely with children and young adults, devising programs aimed at learning abilities across the board, through both  practical workshop and residencies, Steve will dramatise Aboriginal art styles, playing techniques and demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the instrument.

A more music therapy based workshop is aimed toward sensory impaired and special needs children.

Steve has recently returned from a 3 years adventure, taking him twince around the world performing and gaining unmeasurable inspiration.

"Refueled, i'm positively BUZZING with ideas again, ideas for fresh sounds, ideas for new solo and collaboration projects with truly inspirational friends, and ideas to enrich new performance and workshops. "
